Philosophy of Teaching

The goal of teaching should be to inspire lifelong learning. A democracy depends on an informed citizenry that is actively engaged in local, national, and international events. We cannot predict what the world will look like ten, twenty, or one-hundred years from now, but we can be sure that living in that world will require learning new information. To succeed in the world of tomorrow, students need to appreciate the importance of staying informed about their professional field as well as the world around them.

Lifelong learning requires attention or focus, discipline, and commitment.
